Design III | Project III | Designing with Code
This is a collection of projects created in Processing by students in my Design III course in Fall 2018. After a series of in-class demos, lectures, and exercises, students were tasked with researching an interesting dataset and using code to build a visual expression of the information from scratch. Students were also encouraged to bring a temporal component to their work — either by animating a time range within the data set, or animating transitions or cameras.
For this past semester to too much information to cram into a finite amount of class time I’ve had my students shift from coding to visual programming/proceduralism with a new tool called Cavalry.
